Published "Definer: 20 Years of Craft and Observation," a comprehensive volume encapsulating two decades of freelance craftsmanship, observations, and ongoing practice as a Definer.

2025

Redefined Title as "Definer" & 20th Freelance Anniversary

Marked the 20th anniversary of independent work by redefining professional identity as "Definer." Created commemorative illustrations for Hachioji OPA's 6th and 7th year anniversaries.

2022 - 2024

10-Year B4S Supporter Recognition & Yorii Co-Creation Project

Received recognition for 10 years of volunteer support with NPO Bridge for Smile. Planned, managed, and created the website for the "Sudachi 18" campaign. Led the web redesign for "rutsubo," a co-creative local project center in Yorii Town, Saitama.

2018 - 2020

Relocated Base to Hachioji & Reached 100 Clients Milestone

Dissolved ET, Inc. and relocated primary operations to Hachioji, establishing "Kosuke Kato Planning & Design." Reached the cumulative milestone of serving 100 clients in January 2020.

2012 - 2017

Incorporation of ET, Inc., "Yurej" Operation, "Kanaeru" Project & 4M Words Published

Incorporated as ET, Inc. Operated the earthquake preparedness site "Yurej." Joined the executive committee for "Kanaeru"—a project empowering youth leaving care to pursue higher education (managed photography, web redesign, Chromebook deployment, and PR for speech contests). Blog (kosukekato.com) surpassed 4 million Japanese characters (equivalent to 10,000 manuscript pages). Celebrated 10th anniversary of independence.

2005 - 2010

Freelance Launch as "Experience Transporters", "ET withwith" & "ET Luv.Lab."

Launched sole proprietorship Experience Transporters (ET) in June 2005. Developed "ET withwith," an in-house system for sharing comprehensive work logs with clients. Operated the interview portal "ET Luv.Lab.", managed PR for the Capital Club Rugby League, and organized the NZ Ambassador’s Cup.

Early Life, Keio Academy of NY, and Beginnings at SFC

Born in Tokyo, 1980; raised in Higashi-Totsuka, Yokohama. Discovered rugby and sociology at Keio Academy of New York. Commenced professional web design career during studies at Keio University Faculty of Policy Management (SFC).
