Complete archive of Kurashi 1980 weekly zine. Notes on daily cooking, living, and handcrafted code from Threads by Kosuke Kato.
Vol. 6 (October 2026, Week 1)
The clear winds and insect songs mark the beginning of October. The sizzle of a cast-iron skillet, the heavy iron scaffolding pipes hauled at my parents' house, audits on the codebase. Seven days crossing into autumn—moving hands and feet to restore rhythm to life.
Vol. 5 (September 2026, Week 4)
A week as the seasons transition into autumn along with the rain. Sautéing greens in a single frying pan, sliding into the sleeves of a vintage coat, and drawing a hot bath for the first time in months. Moments of reclaiming a tangible, honest texture within everyday life.
Vol. 4 (September 2026, Week 3)
With the brisk autumn breeze comes the season when rising coffee steam feels right at home. Sautéing seasonal greens in an iron pan, coaxing geometry to dance across the screen. At 46, amidst quiet doubts and discoveries, a journal of everyday craftsmanship created by hand once more.
Vol. 3 (September 2026, Week 2)
The morning and evening air has softened, bringing the season of long sleeves. Sizzling local vegetables in a skillet, boiling water, and brewing fresh coffee. A quiet week spent not chasing mere efficiency, but reclaiming the pure joy of making things with our own hands.
Vol. 2 (September 2026, Week 1)
The morning and evening breezes carry the first subtle hints of autumn. Pumping up the tires of my yellow bicycle for the first time in six months, I pedal along the Yudono River to enjoy a favorite bowl of ramen. A weekly chronicle of regaining one’s true stride within everyday life.
Vol. 1 (August 2026, Week 5)
The breeze has suddenly turned cool. This week, I stir-fried eggplants, washed the electric fan, and wrote small snippets of code from bed. A quiet record of caring for tools in the gaps of daily life, and eating modestly yet well.
