Graphic Notes of the Week: A kitchen corner / Mending & ordering / A tranquil desk at night

The breeze has suddenly turned cool. This week I fried eggplant, washed the electric fan, and wrote small snippets of code from bed. A record of tuning everyday tools in the quiet gaps of life, eating simply and well.

Dusk with Sautéed Eggplant and Daily Set Meals

Seasonal Delights Crafted in a Single Skillet

Eggplant took center stage for most dinner meals this week. Simple home cooking—just quick stir-fries pairing it with pork or chicken. Though unpretentious, serving piping hot dishes alongside freshly steamed rice gently melts away the day's fatigue.

On other days, instant curry or a quick kimchi-namul bowl keeps things effortless. Having an AI analyze and grade my homemade meals yields surprisingly high scores every time—a charming little ritual, even if it lacks suspense.

Upkeeping Life and Tools That Serve Family

Washing the Fan and Everyday Chores

I disassembled the electric fan that served so faithfully through summer, washed every piece, and wiped it down. Reassembling it dust-free, the breeze it blows feels immensely crisper. Taking time to care for tools is equally time spent tidying one's mind.

This week I returned to my family home in Yokohama to assist with neighborhood association documentation. Converting handwritten rosters and sorting complex paperwork was finished in barely ten minutes with AI assistance. Inspired by my tech-averse mother's wistful murmur ("If only I could use something like that..."), I experimented with a lightweight AI tool accessible right inside LINE.

Subtractive Development and Coffee Rituals

Creating In Repose: Light, Fluid Experiments

Stepping away from bloodshot nights glued to a desk, this week I shaped small apps one after another straight from my smartphone while lying in bed or on the move. Unburdening the shoulders and crafting with minimal friction—this sensation of "subtractive creation" feels delightfully liberating.

Between build sessions, I brewed Ethiopia Yirgacheffe coffee picked up from Kaldi. Spinning City Pop vinyl and building a web showcase summarizing classic sci-fi concepts—quietly hand-crafting tools that I personally find fascinating and genuinely desire.

I've been releasing mini-app studies at a breakneck pace today, but truth be told, I'm just lying in bed. Building things like these entirely from a phone in bed feels like living in another era...
